Abstract
This study is concerned with the development of lesson kits which help Korean EFL students in the secondary school learn English prosody systematically and efficiently. To this end, I first summarize some of the recent findings in the areas of metrical phonology and intonational phonology and examine current teaching methods of English prosody. Building on some language-universal and particular aspects of English prosody, I purpose a couple of sets of lesson kits which enable learners to recognize the stress and rhythmic patterns of English and a variety of intonation contours and to use them properly through communicative exercise. As part of performance-based assessment, some lesson kits are accompanied by the rubrics of assessment
