Abstract
In thiswork,wepresentanewbeam-damage-locating(BDL)methodbasedonanalgorithm whichisacombinationofanadaptivefuzzyneuralstructure(AFNS)andanaverage quantitysolutiontowavelettransformcoefficient(AQWTC)ofbeamvibrationsignal.The AFNSisusedforrememberingundamaged-beamdynamicproperties,whiletheAQWTCis usedforsignalanalysis.Firstly,thebeamisdividedintoelementsandexcitedtobevibrated. Vibratingsignalateachelement,whichisdisplacementinthiswork,ismeasured,filtered andtransformedintowaveletsignalwithaused-scale-sheettocalculatethecorresponding differenceofAQWTCbetweentwocases:undamagedstatusandthestatusatthechecked time.Databaseaboutthisdifferenceisthenusedforfindingouttheelementshaving strangefeaturesinwaveletquantitativeanalysis,whichdirectlyrepresentsthebeam- damagesigns.Theeffectivenessoftheproposedapproachwhichcombinesfuzzyneural structureandwavelettransformmethodsisdemonstratedbyexperimentonmeasureddata setsinavibratedbeam-typesteelframestructure.
