An Analysis of Korean Logistics Companies' Efficiency with Stochastic Frontier Analysis (SFA)/

The size of logistics market has been increased, Because companies use more outsourcing in logistics part for company's competitiveness reinforcement and government make more investment for logistics infrastructure. But, because of transportation structure which is biased by road, small size of logistics companies and low market share of Third Party Logistics(TPL), corporate logistics cost is still high. And logistics efficiency is very low. Under these condition, we analyzed and estimated the efficiency of Korean logistics firms with Stochastic Frontier Analysis(SFA) as the alternative of logistics company's management evaluation system. This research is consisted of 5 chapters and each chapter is organized as follow. In chapter Ⅱ, we describe the theoretical background of technical efficiency and methodology. In chapter Ⅲ, logistics and logistics industry are defined through literature review. And we enclosure the scope of sub-logistics industry for the analysis. Also we find out status of logistics industry. In chapter Ⅳ, we describe processes of collecting and mining data. Also we show the results from the analysis and propose some implication.
