Abstract
A railway is important logistics infrastructure taking charge of national economic role in China. And railroad dependence duty is high because of the wide country area and the imbalance of a spacious inland region, a position of endowed resources and an industrial area in China. Also, China is investing in be new double track, electric railway, locomotives and improvement of a vehicle of a railroad track, and carry out an innovation large scale of a 2000 railroad section, and be working hard at a railway competitiveness elevation. There are largely three purposes for this research. First, it analyzes the efficiency of Chinese railway industry. Second, the cause of inefficiency in railway industry is to be analyzed. Lastly, the current issue needs to be deducted for the improvement of efficiency in Chinese railway industry. This research is about efficiency of Chinese railway industry for 20 years between 1985 and 2004. The scope of contents is that the efficiency of Chinese railway industry is analyzed through DEA method. To overcome the problem of excessive assumption in efficiency which past DEA model made, this research utilizes the DEA-AR model which limits the weight to a specific domain.
